A fairly late night for us last night by the bridge at Adam and Donielle's awesome house (only a little jealous !).
The kids had a great night and Shahla enjoyed another few days with her new best friend Alannah .
Pretty sure the mrs woke up a little shady as the girls were the last to bed or maybe it was the groaning noises I heard from her as I rolled over on the blow up mattress making her pitch and roll haha.
Adam was already up as we're the girls but the boys and Donielle were fast asleep still , up I got and washed the grit from the face and wondering when my next shave would be .
Adam had the crepes on the go for brekky and I helped myself to a couple of coffees from their super dooper coffee machine .
The whole mob were now up and rocking so we downed the creeps with some more coffee then I tidied our gear up to put in the cruiser and a made a call to a guy selling a iPhone nearby as I was in withdrawals without one and maps were needed for walks and rides and the iPad was too bulky.
The knob with the ad said ASAP sale but was very vague on when I could meet him and would text a time and address before this arvo.
Back to the show grounds base for us and a look around the Sunday market a few comics for pip and some food all round for smoko then back to the van for me to get myself and dash ready for our ride.
Bikes all set and nachos for lunch we set off for Mt Wellington with yet another call to the bloke selling the phone but now no answer hmmm something fishy here.
Took a wrong turn and ended up halfway to Kingston with no turnoffs lmao bloody Hobart !!
Finally heading up to the summit and some great shots on the camera as the day was superb with next to no cloud cover Corinna did very well on the drive up and back and I'm pretty sure not needing any change of underwear.
Dash and I grabbed the bikes and drinks ready then headed off on the north south track back down the hill dropping another 700 meres in elevation over the trip down taking just under two hours .
Dash was on the final downhill course from the glenorchy mtb club and took a tumble and some bark off the knees when he rode over the handlebars but was soon back on the trail albeit a little slower as when he hits the brakes hard on these steep downhills the rear of the bike lifted his little weight easily.
He was to slide and fall off a few more times before the end of the descent and I had a few close calls myself with the front wheel being a little low in air saving me and rolled a few metres down the bank on one wheel with my feet locked in my clips but man what a ride best two hour ride ever god I love Tasmania .
Finally home we yakked about our ride shahla lost her first tooth she was so excited about a letter from the tooth fairy ( thanks donielle) then we set about tea which was a meat smorgasbord again trendy little eatery in Hobart called crumb St kitchen with two Melbourne chefs setting up a meat charcuterie of briskets braises and smoke meats served in a pizza box and in mini like fresh tacos with some salads , very chic I loved the simplicity of it and the happy ambience of the place both of the couple were very eager to talk about food and travel with a few similar experiences , great meal great place highly recommended .
Full as a goog we all were so just a few goodies from the supermarket and servo as we were heading to the south coast in the morning and there wasn't any shops down there
