Swimcart beach- bay of fires

It was great to see the sun come out early again this morning to both warm us up as it was a tad fresh outside and top our battery bank.
Much to the kids dislike we had a few hours of schoolwork to get on with Shahla is swimming along quite well but dash still moans and complains but he did get into it as the morning went on and the beach beckoned us all.
Just before lunch we suited up in our wetsuits ,grabbed our boards to headed to the beach .
The beach here is marvellous and the water a magnificent shade of torquise .
But and it's a fair but the surf comes in fairly close and hard so the sand is chopped out close in so there is a drop off close by which resulted in all of us getting tossed around like corks but what a blast we had for the next couple of hours .
The boys and I caught wave after wave with me paddling a little deeper out to catch longer waves and then helping the boys do the same thing - love the sea!.
The lunch was a simple bowl of soup and toast then off to do some geocaching and loom at the neighbouring beaches.
The gardens beach and rock area was very picturesque and the kids and I enjoyed rock hopping and investigating pools of water around.
Into Saint Helen's we drove to stock up on groceries and decided to eat at the local RSL
What a disaster that was I couldn't run a tab to pay for our meals and drinks in one payment , the rude young ranga girl at the bar was not helpful one iota ,then after receiving our meals (paid for separately as well ) they forgot the gravy on dashmans chips and Corinna lamb cutlets was burnt to a crisp!.
Corinna tried to grin and bear it but finally returned her meal and swapped to a butter chicken $7 cheaper but no refund offered and when they brought that out it still had the plastic they had wrapped it in before the nuked it for 10 minutes ,damn it was hot .
So obviously not happy we skipped dessert and got an ice cream in town and headed back to camp and watched a little bit of the three stooges remake slapstick ,Which the kids enjoyed.
